Super Bowl Pre-Party / Love is in the Air Registration / Iza & Andi's matching haircut

Hello Folks,

I hope all of you made it safely through our snowmageddon! It surely feels like a Minnesnowta winter now. Making snow angels is something I find quite enjoyable, and since our wine is cold climate wine I thought it would be fitting to bring a bottle out with me into the snow to make the first ever Millner Heritage wine-snowangel!

Doesn't it look heavenly!?

Looking for a Super Bowl Pre-Party?

We invite you to come hang out with us for free wine tasting and 1/2 off meat & cheese trays.

AND we can sell bottles on Sunday! So you can pick up a case on the way out to your Super Bowl party.

Welcome to Don's Corner

Texas Hill Country Winery

Texas Hill Country Winery

Mary and I are, after a week home, getting a little rested up from touring Texas for three weeks. We toured Dallas, Houston, South Padre Island, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, and Fredericksburg. Fredericksburg, in the Texas hill country, is nationally the second fastest wine growing area, Napa being the fastest. They grow Vitis Vinifera grapes, the common California grapes such as Merlot and Cabernet. I was able to report to Jon that his wine making abilities are very comparable and I think better than many we tasted. (That'll keep him home on the farm.) Though we have different grapes, the grape growing and the winemaking are very similar.

To celebrate it's good to be home, I think it would be a good time to give away a bottle of wine. Below is a photo of a home in the Texas hill country near Fredericksburg, all of you have seen a photo of this house before. Easy question, what famous American lived in this house and conducted US government affairs under the oak tree on the front lawn. If you are at least 46 yrs. old it was during you like time. Send your answers to donmillner@gmail.com with the subject line, "My Fellow Americans."

Valentine's Day will be here shortly, don't miss our "Love is in the Air" party.  Besides a wonderful meal, we'll have The Derelict Trio playing Jazz, Wine to drink, plus our new cider "Sechs in a Bottle", and Free Bottle Bingo.  Iza our Granddaughter is getting her hair cut this evening, with some wild style.  Her and Andrea, our new worker are together on this.  You'll be able to see the new two doo.  All I can say is that it might be good that hair usually grows back. Well I believe Iza will be helping me with the Free Bottle Bingo.

Maybe see you this weekend.  Sunday I may be doing  tours.

Andrea the Wine Student

I started my spring semester of Enology (wine making) courses on Tuesday. I'm pretty excited about my Sensory Evaluation class. In this class I will be learning how to evaluate wine and each week starting at week 4, I will be tasting/evaluation a different variety of wine. My instructor is Croatian, his name is Zoran Ljepovic and has a very entertaining accent.
